What it is
Objectives and Metrics are Everview's OKR-style entities. An Objective is a goal at the organization level; a Metric is a measurable target tied to an Objective, with its own current value, target value, unit, and deadline. Objectives are parents; Metrics are children.
How to read it
When "Show Metrics/Objectives" is enabled for a workspace, this relationship appears as its own canvas layer. Projects can link to Objectives with an attribution percentage and a confidence level, showing how much of a project's effort is expected to move a given Objective, and how confident that estimate is. Priority ordering controls the visual position of Objective flows in the Sankey view, the same way it does for projects.
What to do about it
Use the attribution percentage and confidence level together, not separately — a high attribution with low confidence is a bet, not a plan. When effort distribution across Objectives shifts over time, check whether that reflects a deliberate reprioritization or scope drifting away from stated goals. Compare Metric targets against delivery cadence at the Execution Hierarchy level feeding them to see whether the current pace can realistically hit the deadline.
