Configure a Board's Display and Cadence

Set a board's name and iteration cadence, how many past iterations it shows, and which layers — tasks, projects, operations, metrics — appear on it.

Open in Everview

Board Settings controls what a board is called, how it paces iterations, and which layers of data it shows.

Name and cadence

Set the board's Name (up to 60 characters; it must be unique in the organization). Under Iteration Interval, choose Sprint, Month, or Quarter — there's no separate weekly/biweekly option, cadence is just one of these three. Past Iterations Shown sets how many past iterations the board displays: Past 1, 3, 6, 12, or 26.

Display toggles

Two cards of toggles control what appears on the board:

  • Teamwork & Projects: Show tasks (tasks alongside projects and bigger initiatives), Show projects (standalone projects that live only in this board), Show projects per track (Sankey diagrams in each team's own track, in addition to the master Sankey).
  • Project & Portfolio: Show operations (the engineering operations dashboard on each iteration), Show metrics & objectives (KPIs and OKRs related to this board).

All changes here save automatically a moment after you stop editing.

What to do about it

Turn off layers your board doesn't need — a board tracking only delivery execution doesn't need Show metrics & objectives on, for instance. See Assign Teams to a Board for adding the teams whose work actually populates these layers, and Board Security and Deleting a Board for the remaining settings on this same page.
